Midwest Wildflower Honey-
Raw honey straight out of our managed local hives and carefully packaged and stored to ensure its rawness and maintain the flavors of wildflowers the bees foraged on to produce this delicious everyday honey. Jarred in 9oz (12oz weight) glass jars to help preserve the favor of the honey straight out of the hive.
As our best selling honey, we recommend using this as a spread or sweetener for your favorite uses of honey. We like to use it drizzled over ice cream, goat cheese and a cracker, or straight out of the jar to our yapper.
Where is the Honey Farm?
"The Flight Patterns are in WI & MN" on this one. Gathered from various honey farms where our hives are located and tucked up against the MN and WI border. The bees can see the sky scrapers of St. Paul and Minneapolis as they gather the nectar from plants, trees and flowers near the Twin Cities along the beautiful St. Croix River Valley.
Why Purple Bee Honey™?
First, we use zero chemicals to treat our bees. The vast majority of beekeepers use chemicals to treat their bees, and though most of the chemicals are applied when there is no honey on the hives. The bees still drag it around the hive once they honey supers are put back on the hives.
Second, our honey tastes delicious, just check out what some of our buyers are saying in our reviews. We have tested just about every local beekeepers honey, and there are some good tasting honeys out there, but we truly believe ours is a step above the others, thanks to the strategic placement of our beehives and our hard working girls, the honey bees.
Third, sustainability. Every decision we make is with sustainability as the primary driver. Without sustainability we will not have a future habitable planet nor the honey bee. Colony Collapse Disorder is taking out up to 40% of honey bees each year and we are working to help change that by supporting local farmers that embrace sustainability practices and balance between mono-cultures and native plant/ flower species plantings.
